AAPPM Fellowship Status
Requirements and Benefits

We invite all AAPPM members who have been in practice for four years or more to consider applying for Fellowship status in the Academy. We have many distinguished Academy members who have fulfilled the following requirements to become AAPPM fellows. You can join their ranks and receive recognition from your peers as a practice management expert.

Benefits

Fellowship in the AAPPM will help you and your practice gain value in the following ways:

  • You will be presented with a certificate of Fellowship on stage at an AAPPM conference, along with a lapel pin that you can wear proudly at all AAPPM and other podiatry events
  • Your paper will be featured in the member’s area of www.aappm.org
  • If appropriate, we may submit your paper to Podiatry Management magazine for publication in one of their issues
  • You will be invited to participate in special roundtable discussions and have the opportunity to serve on committees that will benefit you, your practice, the profession and the Academy
  • Discounts to AAPPM conferences, virtual seminars and webinars
  • Discounts as available to social events at AAPPM conferences

To Maintain Fellowship Status
in the Academy:

To Maintain Fellowship Status in the Academy:

  • Fellowship status is good for a two-year period
  • In order to maintain fellowship status, you must attend at least one in-person conference during the two years and maintain membership, in good standing, of the AAPPM.
  • You must either write a publishable article, OR two Pearl articles, or do a live presentation as outlined above, during the two-year Fellowship period

Requirements

To apply for Fellowship status in the AAPPM, you must meet the following qualifications:

  • Must have four years experience in podiatric medicine, post-residency
  • Must be a member in good standing of the AAPPM
  • Must have attended at least two AAPPM conferences
  • Must submit a paper on practice management AND a live, single presentation of at least 20 minutes at a seminar, OR
  • Must submit TWO papers on practice management, OR
  • Must submit a paper and two shorter pearl articles on practice management
  • A paper shall be 1,800 to 2,500 words. A Pearl article shall be 1,000 to 1,500 words. Both shall be complete with references and suitable for publication. Topics need to be approved in advance by the Fellowship team
  • The live presentation shall be done on Power Point, topics shall be approved in advance by the Fellowship team
  • Papers, Pearl articles and presentations shall be based on content as it relates to practice management and applicability to daily practice
